Baby Cate, 15 Months Old. Mommy, 15 Months Plus 33.25 Years.

As part of my birthday celebration, I took off early from work and Grammy and I took Baby Cate to the doctor for her 15 month check up. She did great. The nurse called us back and Cate walked all the way to her exam room with her hands on the back of her hips. She played happily with only a diaper on as we waited for the doc. She was pretty amenable to her exam until the doc swiped her from Mommy's arms to put her on the ground and see how her spine looks as she walked away. She walked (normally) and cried. Mommy slipped and accidentally told the doc that Cate still has a nighttime bottle. I was a bit more on my toes when the doc asked me if Cate's car seat is still rear-facing. Yep, Mommy is a big fat liar. ;o)

Cate's height measured 31.75 inches (86 percentile), she weighed 22 lbs 10 oz (48 percentile) and her head was 47.5 cm (89 percentile). She received two vaccinations, which she did *not* appreciate, but she recovered quickly with a safety lollipop.

Cate is chatty, smart and fun. She has many words, including, but not limited to:

-Emma
-Ball
-Cracker
-Mama
-Dada
-Yeah! (yelled with a very serious face)

-Bye Bye
-Hi

-Doggie

-Baba

At home, Cate spends her time poking Emma in the eyes, riding Billy like a pony, running away from her screaming brother (while laughing hysterically) and begging for - or rather, demanding you give her the food you are in the midst of enjoying. At school, Cate spends her time taking toys from little boys, screaming in protest at her teacher attempting to corral her, dancing and kissing her friends. Her teachers report that she is a sweet sweet girl. And we certainly concur!

And here are some pictures from my 35th birthday. Holy Moly. 35.

Brady's New Bus...and Bag

Tonight, I went to the big kid's consignment sale at the local church. I brough home a "new" bus for Brady. He loves it. So I am sitting here with Brady in Mommy & Daddy's bed and we are playing with Brady's new bus. Brady says he "vroomed it" and "the passengers hop, hop, hop and they go up the stairs and the door closes. Now we get the passengers in their seats." Brady asks Mommy to help snap them in their seats. See Brady playing with his bus here.

Since Brady's new bag is being a "big boy" (he uses the potty, he picks out his clothes, he is in PreSchool 1, he showers) he gets to stay up a little later than Baby Cate. He and Mom spend some time reading books or playing "match game." Side note, match game is the Toy Story 3 edition of Memory. Most recently, Brady prefers to sit in Mommy & Daddy's bed and read his Curious George book. His favorite is the chapter "Curious George and the Hot Balloons." He chooses it first every time.
